Treasure Hunter

Jarek Zuzga is a photographer who is constantly in love with Warsaw. He runs a popular photo-blog „Okno na miasto” and regularly shows what he’s found in the city. Although he’s been photographing the capital for the last 15 years and knows it well, the city still surprises him with new things. Taking photos is like a treasure hunt to him. ‘You can find the treasure on every corner’, he says. And the harder it is to find them, the more satisfied you feel when you achieve it.

‘Warsaw is my beloved city’, says Jarek firmly. ‘This city survived its own death. There’s been no other example of a city first razed to the ground and then rebuilt on such a scale in modern history.

Jarek encourages to visit also the districts that are less known, e.g. southern downtown which is his favourite. It survived the WWII in a good shape thanks to the fact that it used to be inhabited by Germans and therefore wasn’t bombed during the occupation.

‘There’s a lovely diary factory that was established long before the WWII and has been operating till today producing processed cheese and other dairy products. There are a lot of places like this in Warsaw, not only in downtown but also in old Wola or Praga districts.

Not only is Jarek Zuzga a passionate photographer but also a talented graphic artist. Professionally he designs book covers. He is also the author of our mermaid with a camera that is the symbol of our video-guide.
